For the last 20 years I have been employed by Kroger so I have great customer service skills. I have also lived in the district for the last 23 years where I have been involved with the schools on Tates Creek campus, as well as worked with some of the programs at the Gainesway Community Center. This is my neighborhood and I am invested in it.

The most pressing issue in the 8th that I can see is addressing the food insecurity that faces our families. I would love to get some programs started like the Hunger Doesn't Take a Spring Break. I am hoping to work with some other community leaders to get some of these programs in place.

I am going to encourage folks to start attending their neighborhood meetings and I am going to hold some of my own in the district. I am also going to have some time where people can come see me at city hall. We need to make sure that everyone who wants to know what is going on can know and understand what is going on. I am open to any suggestions that the district may have as to how to keep them engaged.

My hope is that we get back to a time where we are all neighbors and we watch out for each other's kids and families. Where we know our neighbors, it truly takes a village and I want us to all feel like we are part of that village. Where we can afford to pay rent and buy groceries.
