Marketing/Communications

I combine nonprofit leadership and community service. In nearly 20 years of living in the district, we raised our family here and watched Hamburg grow from a largely undeveloped area into a thriving community. As a mother and former PTA leader, I understand the challenges families face. I have supported voter registration, literacy, gun violence prevention, food security, and services for homeless neighbors through volunteerism, philanthropy, and community partnerships. I also support organizations such as March of Dimes, Salvation Army, and Lexington Rescue Mission.

We must manage growth responsibly, protect neighborhoods, and ensure infrastructure keeps pace. Residents have shared concerns about traffic, safety, housing, flooding, and development impacts. My focus is balancing growth with quality of life while protecting our natural resources. I have long supported efforts to protect clean air and clean water. As City Council considers issues such as data centers, we must pursue opportunities that strengthen our economy while ensuring sustainable growth and environmental stewardship for the future.

My priorities include improving traffic and pedestrian safety, ensuring development contributes to needed infrastructure, expanding quality housing options, and protecting parks and natural resources. After speaking with residents displaced by the Casa Mia collapse, I was reminded that housing must be affordable, safe, and stable. I will be a visible, accessible councilmember who listens and keeps residents informed. At the end of my first term, I want residents to say that District 6 is safer and better connected, and that their concerns were heard and addressed.

As a communications professional and the past PRSA president, I help people understand complex issues and engage in meaningful dialogue. I recognize that residents engage in different ways, so I will use multiple communication channels to share information and stay connected. I work with the media, use digital and social media platforms, develop community outreach campaigns, and meet people where they are. Even as a candidate, I share City Council updates, CivicLex resources, and voter information. I will keep residents informed, engaged, and heard.

Having spent a lifetime volunteering and working with organizations across the district, I have developed a deep understanding of our community’s needs, challenges, strengths, and opportunities. These experiences have also allowed me to build strong relationships with community leaders throughout the district, enabling me to hit the ground running and begin making meaningful progress for our area from day one.

1. Address homelessness through meaningful programs that create long-term solutions and reverse current trends.

2. Invest in local trades and infrastructure to support sustainable growth, improve housing affordability, strengthen our economy, and keep projects with local contractors.

3. Work with the state on major 6th District road projects to ensure local voices are heard and priorities reflected.

4. Restore emergency services to full staffing capacity.

1. Reduce homelessness by 15–20% through targeted programming and partnership.

2. Increase licensed trade workers by 20–30% while ensuring LFUCG-funded projects use local contractors and materials whenever available.

3. Ensure the Reimagine New Circle project reflects local needs, not just use of available grant funding.

4. Fully staff emergency services and redirection of the $1.6 million from FLOCK cameras toward recruitment and retention.

I would make local government more accessible by hosting quarterly district-wide meetings where residents can share concerns, ask questions, and receive updates on City Hall, district, and community issues. I would keep residents informed through a district newsletter, regular email updates, and responsive communication. I would also advocate for important meetings to be held outside regular business hours to encourage greater community participation.
