Council District 11

I am seeking re-election to the 11th District Council. I previously served as the 11th district Council member as well as an at large Council member. I have been a public servant my entire adult life and have a proven record for fighting for employees, fairness and equality, diversity and many other important issues facing our community. I have a housing background having worked for REACH Inc, Kentucky Housing Corporation, Kentucky Department of Housing, Building and Construction and as the Cheif Administrative Officer and Commissioner of Public Works at LFUCG.

My experience. I have already served on the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council and understand both the opportunities and challenges facing our city. I have a proven record of supporting public safety, responsible budgeting, neighborhood investment, and economic development. Voters know where I stand.

1. Public Safety—ensuring Police, Fire, EMS, Community Corrections, and E-911 are fully staffed and equipped.

2. Strong Neighborhoods—maintaining quality city services including roads, snow removal, sanitation, parks, and infrastructure.

3. Responsible Growth and Economic Development—creating good-paying jobs while protecting the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

If elected, my focus will be on delivering measurable results that improve the quality of life for every resident of the 11th District while ensuring Lexington remains a safe, fiscally responsible, and forward-thinking community.During my term, I will work to strengthen public safety by supporting full staffing for police, fire, E-911, and Community Corrections while ensuring first responders have the resources they need to protect our neighborhoods. I will advocate for responsible budgeting that prioritizes essential city services, including reliable trash collection, road maintenance, snow removal, and infrastructure improvements.

I will continue working to expand economic development opportunities that create high-quality jobs and workforce training programs, helping prepare residents for careers in the skilled trades and emerging industries. At the same time, I will support policies that encourage responsible growth while preserving the character of our neighborhoods.

Housing affordability will remain a priority. I will work to expand housing options for families, seniors, and young professionals while supporting initiatives that address homelessness through partnerships with community organizations and practical, long-term solutions.

Above all, I will remain accessible and accountable to the residents of District 11. My goal is to maintain open communication, respond promptly to constituent concerns, and ensure that every decision I make reflects the needs and priorities of the people I represent. Success will be measured not only by the policies we adopt but by the tangible improvements residents see in their neighborhoods and daily lives.

As a former Aging and Disability Resource Coordinator at Bluegrass ADD, I connected families with vital resources to maintain independence. My subsequent work in criminal defense gave me a deep understanding of our community's challenges, helping me address root causes of instability. Drawing on my background in community health and social work outreach, I use a collaborative, holistic approach to ensure every local voice is heard and represented.

What makes me the most qualified candidate is a track record of turning passion into tangible results. I don't just talk about community improvement; I execute it. When our parks lacked accessibility, I worked to install multilingual signage so all neighbors feel welcome. I focus on real, actionable solutions and bring hands-on commitment to our district. I'm running because I believe in purposeful action, with the drive to ensure every single resident is heard.

If elected, I will work on many city wide issues, but have a special dedication to building a safer, more equitable 11th District centered firmly on Health, Housing, and Habitat.

Health: I will prioritize corridor safety, advocate to continue to fund the Versailles Road project, and advocate for shared-use paths.

Housing: I will balance historic and farmland preservation with equitable, affordable housing, ensuring no single neighborhood bears a disproportionate impact from growth.

Habitat: I will advocate for a city maintenance manual to mandate clear departmental ownership of our green infrastructure, preventing deferred care.

To make government accessible, we must remove the physical, linguistic, and logistical barriers cutting residents out of the conversation. If elected, I will host neighborhood office hours in our parks and community spaces. I will fight to ensure city resources, zoning notices, and meeting summaries are translated into our district's primary languages. I will meet neighborhood associations, small businesses, and community leaders where they are to ensure every voice is heard
