District Judge 22nd Judicial District - 2nd Division

District court handles any cases involving youth, city ordinances, misdemeanors, traffic offenses, cases relating to domestic violence and abuse, small claims, civic cases, arraignments, violations, and probate of wills.

District Judges serve four year terms.

Everyone in Fayette County will see this race on their ballots.

Shannon Brooks and Alex Garcia won this race and will run in the general election this November.

Shannon Brooks

Shannon has a background in Public Defense, having served as a Public Defender in Fayette County for 18 years. For the past 7 years, she has been the Directing Attorney of the Lexington Public Defender Office. She is a member of the Fayette County, Kentucky, and American Bar Associations.

Alex Garcia

Alex spent 10 years as a Prosecutor and three years in education law. He is also a Major in the US Army Reserve and provides legal assistance to service members and their families. He is the incoming president of the Fayette County Bar Association and the Chairman of LexArts.

Aaron F. Fallahi

Aaron has served as a staff Attorney for multiple judges in the Fayette Circuit Court, has worked in the Public Defenders Office, and in private practice has experience with workers’ compensation and insurance defense, family law, guardianship, and traffic, misdemeanor, and felony cases. He is an Air Force Veteran.
